Filmed during the Occupation, this drama marks one of Jean Marais’s first major film roles, prior to his rise as a leading figure in French cinema of the 1940s and 1950s. An iconic actor associated with the world of Jean Cocteau, Jean Marais gradually established himself during this period as one of the leading young stars of French cinema.
