THIS IS CINERAMA Documentary film on this cinematographic process in 1952, co-directed by directors M.C. Cooper and E.B. Schoedsack of "King Kong" (1933). 6 photos, later silver prints (1973) including two reproductions of works signed Alexandre Leydenfrost, credits (including date) below images, mute backs. 20.5 x 25.5 cm each. Note: Set of six photographs dedicated to This Is Cinerama, a documentary film made in 1952 to promote the revolutionary Cinerama process. This spectacular system using three synchronized projectors and a curved panoramic screen marked an essential step in the history of post-war cinematographic innovation. The project was co-directed by Merian C. Cooper and Ernest B. Schoedsack, famous creators of King Kong (1933). Later prints from 1973 testify to the renewed interest in large panoramic processes as cinema rediscovers its historic innovations. Two images reproduce works by Alexandre Leydenfrost, an artist associated with the spectacular promotional imagery of cinematographic processes and entertainment posters. This set is of particular interest to collectors of film history, cinematographic techniques and documents related to panoramic formats.
