Note: Set of two photographs depicting Candice Bergen and Steve McQueen during the filming of *The Sand Pebbles*, a film directed by Robert Wise and released in 1966. A historical and dramatic epic set in 1920s China, the film is one of Fox’s major productions of the 1960s and earned Steve McQueen an Oscar nomination for Best Actor. Candice Bergen, then at the beginning of her film career, appears alongside the actor in a film that has become a classic of American adventure and war cinema.
