A beautiful set of drawings by Odilon Roche
Odilon Roche (1868-1947) wore many hats: wine taster, color dealer, antique dealer specialized in 18th century and Persian art and Chinese lacquer.
Then in 1917, he was asked by the Rodin Museum to help put the posthumous work in order.
In this position, he arranged major transactions with the Japanese collector Matsukata, who had special castings made of several works not yet published, as well as another with an American museum.
Odilon Roche was a great admirer of Rodin. Most of these drawings were executed in the South of France: many works on the theme of women, and of the seaside.
