Auguste RODIN (1840-1917) - Seated female torso known as "Type A" large model Bronze with brown patina shaded with green 33.6x21.5x16.4cm signed and numbered "A.RODIN/II/IV" on the right thigh with the copyright by Musée Rodin under the right thigh and the founder's mark "E. GODARD fondr" under the left thigh. GODARD fondr" under the left thigh Conceived before 1889 Enlarged circa 1899 Bronze proof cast in 1986 Note: This bronze is typical of the lost-wax castings produced by the Emile Godard foundry. The Musée Rodin initiated the edition of this subject from the plaster of its collections, by commissioning the Emile Godard foundry to produce an edition of 12 numbered proofs initiated in October 1986. This work will be included in the Catalogue critique de l'oeuvre sculpté d'Auguste Rodin being prepared by Jérôme Le Blay at Galerie Brame et Lorenceau under number 2011-3679B.
