Note: Edouard Marcel Sandoz founded the Société française des animaliers in 1933. In 1947, Edouard-Marcel Sandoz was elected a member of the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Paris; in 1959, he was awarded the title of "Doctor honoris causa ès sciences naturelles" by the University of Lausanne for his research in animal science. He spent most of his life in Paris, and the rabbit is undoubtedly the most popular theme in the artist's work.
