Henry d'ANTY (1910-1998) - Femme et enfant - Oil on canvas, signed lower left, countersigned on the back and annotated "53 mt 60" - 55 x 46 cm - Small hole at the height of the child's hair. Note: A member of the Paris School, he exhibited many times at the Salon Des Peintres Témoins De Leur Temps. A figurative painter, he transcribed numerous landscapes and scenes of life onto his canvases. His painting envisages volumes through geometric shapes, developed in broad strokes of warm colors. Throughout his career, Henry d'Anty's work gave free rein to an expressionist, incisive style. His playful use of materials allows the image to blossom on the surface of the canvas, sometimes encircling volumes in black, sometimes leaving the distribution of color free.
