Léonor Fini
In 1929, Léonor Fini participated in his first solo exhibition at Galerie Barbaroux. Three years later, she had a great success at the Bonjean Gallery in Paris by presenting Le Travesti à l'oiseau, an oil on canvas representing her husband André Pieyre de Mandiargues. Afterwards, she participates in a few solo and group exhibitions. For example, she exhibited drawings in surrealist style in 1934 at the Galerie des Quatre chemins in Paris and then in 1936 at the New Burlington Galleries in London. In 1939, Léonor Fini began to make a name for herself internationally by exhibiting her work at the Julien Levy Gallery in New York.
However, it wasn't until the 1940s that Léonor Fini gained true national and international recognition.
