Robert COUTURIER (1905-2008) - PLEUREUSE (1986) - Bronze wit - Lot 112
Robert COUTURIER (1905-2008) - PLEUREUSE (1986) - Bronze with a rich brown-black patina Old proof signed "Couturier", numbered "2/6", melted by "Susse fondeur Paris" Circa: 1990 - Note: Robert Couturier is a French sculptor born in 1905. He joined the Estienne school in Paris, where he studied lithography. Former student of Aristide Maillol, Robert Couturier detaches himself from the style of his master and tends towards suggestion to the detriment of figuration, defining himself as a defender of line, in opposition to modeling. He works essentially around the female nude in a restrained and discreet manner.
