Barbedienne Fondeur - Gold stamp FB - 24 x 8.5 x 8.8 cm Bibliography: Barye, catalog raisonné des sculptures - Michel Poletti and Alain Richarme, similar model P.238, reference A.98 Note: Antoine-Louis Barye, the undisputed master of animal sculpture, left his mark on the 19th century with his innovative, naturalistic approach. His aim was to represent the power and beauty of animals in lively, expressive compositions. Trained in the workshop of François-Joseph Bosio and influenced by his observations at the Jardin des Plantes in Paris, he infused his works with dramatic intensity. His collaborations with renowned foundrymen such as Barbedienne ensured the quality and durability of his sculptures, which today feature in prestigious collections including the Musée d'Orsay and the Louvre. The "FB" gold seal was used by Ferdinand Barbedienne between 1876 and 1889.
