SEEN (b. 1961) - Lot 52
SEEN (b. 1961) Green Wall, 1989 Aerosol on canvas, signed and dated on back 89 x 116 cm Note: Considered the "Godfather of Graffiti", SEEN (Richard Mirando) is one of the leading figures in New York street art. Green Wall (1989) perfectly illustrates his transition from New York subway murals to canvas in the 1980s. The bright colors and dynamic gestures convey the raw energy of urban art during this period. This work, signed and dated on the back, embodies institutional recognition and the passage of graffiti into galleries and auctions.
