Jean FAUTRIER (1898-1964) - Lot 30
Jean FAUTRIER (1898-1964) Large female torso Etching and aquatint in colors on Vergé d'Arches Signed lower right in pencil and justified lower left 66 x 50 cm Bibliography: Mason 230,I - Engelberts 1947/11 Note: Color proof of Jean Fautrier's Grand torse de femme, showing his singular approach to the body, between reduced figuration and intimate expressionism. Etching and aquatint allow for subtle work on volumes and texture, characteristic of his research into flesh and matter.
