Elke DAEMMRICH - Lot 317
Elke DAEMMRICH
The death of Repe Illo 2
Etching
Justified 5/100 and titled in pencil lower left
Signed and dated (19)98 lower right
52.5 x 39.3 cm
Slight folds to edges
note: A powerful, dramatic composition by Elke Daemmrich, in which the artist forcefully transposes the tragic tension of the bullfighting world. With nervous strokes and intense contrasts, La Mort de Repe Illo 2 expresses both the violence of the gesture and the sacrificial dimension of the subject, in keeping with the expressionist sensibility of her etchings.
