VAN CLEEF & ARPELS - Art Deco Evening Set Silver- and gold-plated metal, circa 1930-1940 Compartmented interior, bevelled mirror Black silk case 13 x 18 cl Refined Art Deco evening set in silver-plated metal with guilloché decoration, adorned with an elegant gilded metal gadrooned clasp. The interior features a full-page beveled mirror and four functional compartments (compact, rouge, accessories, powder puff). Presented in its original black suede case with handle. Note: This type of compact set was produced by several major Parisian houses in the 1930s-1940s. Van Cleef & Arpels models were renowned for their quality, fine guilloche work and use of gold or gilded metal clasps.
