Jean RIBIERE (1922-1989) - Lot 150
Jean RIBIERE (1922-1989)
Gypsies and bicycles, games in the street
Silver print
Artist's stamp on back
Dimensions: 20 x 26 cm
Note :In this spontaneous scene, Jean Ribière captures two children absorbed in an improvised game with bicycle wheels.
The simplicity of the setting, the frank lighting and the children's natural attitude bear witness to the photographer's humanistic eye, attentive to everyday gestures and the marginalized worlds he often documented, notably gypsy communities.
This silver print, bearing the artist's stamp, is a fine example of his sensitive and authentic work on street life.
