The mixed technique, used here with great freedom, creates a play of textures, transparencies and shadows that envelops the scene in an almost sacred aura. The slumbering figure - or one lost within herself - faces an ethereal, ambiguous presence, somewhere between benevolent apparition and disquieting visitation.
