HERMES Rectangular box in sheathed leather and metal (circa 1960-70) Rectangular wooden box sheathed in brown saddle leather, with peripheral saddle stitching. Alternating metal cubes and leather modules, typical of Hermès work from the 1960s-70s. Interior divided into two sections, in natural wood. Dimensions: approx. 23 × 12 × 4 cm. (Wear and scratches from use, minor alterations to the leather visible). Note: This type of Hermès box, combining upholstery leatherwork and metal inserts, appeared in production in the 60s and 70s, often as high-end desk accessories or pocket trays. Comparable models are sought after by collectors of vintage Hermès objects because of their rarity and the finesse of the leatherwork.
