Egyptian statuette - Lot 39

Egyptian statuette Ancient Egyptian style Dark patina bronze figure of a standing figure, wearing a large tripartite headdress, with a pronounced false beard, holding a symbolic object against his chest. The body is treated in a hieratic manner, in keeping with the canons of Egyptian art, with a slender, frontal silhouette. The statuette rests on a quadrangular base, itself presented on a later yellow marble pedestal. Decorative work freely inspired by ancient Egyptian iconography, probably made for ornamental or collector's purposes. Condition: wear, heterogeneous patina, small accidents and possible missing pieces. Height: approx. 25 cm Note: This type of Egyptian bronze is in keeping with the taste for Antiquity and Orientalism, very present in European interiors from the XIXᵉ century onwards. It is not an archaeological work, but a decorative production inspired by Pharaonic models.
