Matthieu CHAZAL (1974 - 2024) - Lot 188

Matthieu CHAZAL (1974 - 2024) On the heights of Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina, 2017 Silver print Dimensions including margins: 40 x 50 cm Note: In this delicate print, Matthieu Chazal captures a suspended moment on the heights of Sarajevo, a place steeped in history and contrasts. The backlit silhouette, almost sculpted by the fading light, lends the scene a contemplative dimension, while the city stretches out below like a vast, silent theater. The photographer succeeds in combining intimacy and panorama, the poetry of gesture and the memory of a landscape marked by its past. An image that blends gentleness, gravity and beauty, emblematic of his deeply humanistic approach.
