Thierry VALENCIN (1962) - Lot 229

Thierry VALENCIN (1962) Eclipse, Luberon, 2001 Silver print Artist's stamp, signed, and artist's proof on back Dimensions including margins: 30 x 24 cm Note :In this enigmatic, almost spectral image, Thierry Valencin explores the boundary between presence and disappearance, between the real and the imaginary. The deliberate blurring, deep contrasts and refined composition transform the silhouette into an apparition, as if suspended outside time. True to her poetic approach, the artist does not seek to document but to suggest, inviting viewers to project their own emotions and memories into the image. This photograph is fully in line with her work on memory, shadows and the fragility of the moment.
