Jean RIBIERE (1922-1989) - Lot 284
Jean RIBIERE (1922-1989) The birds and the cat Vintage silver print Size: 38 x 29 cm Note: In this tender yet tense scene, Jean Ribière captures a suspended moment with his usual keen sense of observation: two curious cats surround a cage, while a bird is still sheltered inside. The strong, contrasting lateral light highlights the silhouettes, the glances and the bars of the cage, creating an image that is both poetic and narrative. This vintage print bears witness to the photographer's humanistic, mischievous eye for small, everyday scenes.
