LARGE CIRCULAR WROUGHT-IRON LUSHLIGHT SET, circa 1920-1930 - Lot 169
LARGE CIRCULAR WROUGHT-IRON LUSHLIGHT SET, circa 1920-1930 Large chandelier frame in patinated wrought iron, with double circular crown, supported by four vertical uprights ending in a top cup. The structure includes several side arms designed to hold glassware or sockets, as well as original fasteners. Work from the interwar period, in the spirit of Art Deco creations and French ironwork workshops of the early XXᵉ century. Height: 52 cm Condition: oxidation, wear, missing or incomplete elements. Electricity not tested. Sold as is, without glassware. Note: This large wrought-iron chandelier frame, dating from the interwar period, illustrates the decorative taste of the 1920s-1930s, marked by the search for a balance between structural robustness and linear elegance. The double circular crown, supported by four vertical uprights, bears witness to meticulous ironwork in the spirit of the French workshops of the period. The side arms, designed to accommodate glassware or lampholders, and the original fasteners underline the functional, modular nature of this type of luminaire. Oxidation, wear and missing elements are consistent with the age of the piece, sold as is and without glassware. An interesting basis for restoration or reconstitution of an Art Deco chandelier.
