Known for his animated sculptures and unstable surfaces, he transposes this reflection on movement and the perception of the gaze into his two-dimensional works. With Naked (2005), Pol Bury takes the classic theme of the nude and offers a profoundly contemporary reinterpretation. The female body, reclining and sensually posed, is subjected to a fluid distortion that alters volumes and blurs anatomical reference points. The figure seems to slide, to undulate, as if caught in a continuous flow, transforming the nude into an unstable, almost liquid image.
