Note: Since the 1960s, Erró has been developing a body of work based on the appropriation and collision of images from art history, comics, advertising and mass culture.
With Naked (2006), he continues this critical approach with a dense, frontal and deliberately saturated composition, in which the female nude dialogues with a fragmented male figure.
The silkscreen features an incisive, nervous black line drawing, structuring the image like a graphic collage. The deliberately small but strategically placed flat tones of color - bright reds and yellows - introduce a visual tension that accentuates the scene's ironic, distanced character. The yellow squares, disruptive elements in the reading, function as signs of censorship or rupture, referring to the mechanisms of control and consumption of images in contemporary societies.
