René LAUBIES (1924-2006) - Lot 18
René LAUBIES (1924-2006) Composition Lithograph signed lower right and justified Artist's proof 50.5 x 65 cm Slight sun exposure Note: Horizontal abstract composition built on a warm ochre background, animated by blue, white and brown-black gestural interventions, applied by rubbing and sweeping. The painterly marks, laid out in floating bands, establish a calm, breathing rhythm, leaving large areas of chromatic silence. This work testifies to a more open and luminous phase in René Laubies' work, where color takes on a more sensitive role, while maintaining an economy of means faithful to his aesthetic thinking, nourished by Zen, poetry and suspended temporality.
