Note: Acknowledged as one of the leading figures in French contemporary art, Fabrice Hyber (b. 1961, Luçon, Vendée) has built up a body of work over the past thirty years whose diverse approaches now reveal to the public a proliferating body of work with impressive formal and conceptual ramifications. Each time, his variable-geometry approach is enriched by a dialogue with multiple disciplines (from physics to neuroscience, from astronomy to herbal medicine), sending the viewer/actor back to a vast construction site where all dimensions of human experience are summoned. Mixing drawings, paintings, video and installations, Hyber multiplies the possibilities of intervention on form, behavior and organization. His conception of art openly confronts ways of experiencing the World, with proposals that challenge modes of interpreting reality - what Hyber more generally calls the "commerce" of forms. This text is a reproduction of handwritten notes, accompanied by sketches, in which Fabrice Hyber explains his conception of the role of art and the artist. The limited edition is accompanied by a one-of-a-kind artwork on the case.
