Note: Peter Klasen (b. 1935, Lübeck, Germany) is a German painter, photographer and sculptor based in France. After studying at the Beaux-Arts in Berlin, he moved to Paris in 1959 and became one of the leading figures of the Nouvelle Figuration movement, alongside Valerio Adami, Erró, Jacques Monory, Bernard Rancillac and Hervé Télémaque. His use of recurring themes (industry, enclosed spaces and signage) and his "mechanized" technique (airbrush and stencils) contribute to the distancing of his subjects: containers, railings, road signs, locks... Unpublished text accompanied by a unique airbrushed collage, signed by the artist.
