Note: After figurative beginnings close to English Pop Art, Swiss painter Peter Stämpfli (b. 1937, Deisswil, Switzerland) turned to the theme of the automobile, which he deepened and fragmented. His approach culminates in the representation of the tire, which he frees from its environment to retain only the refined geometric imprint, declined on different supports. Peter Stämpfli's works have found their way into numerous public collections. These include MoMA in New York, the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris and the Kunstmuseum in Zurich. Unpublished account illustrated with an original composition on rhodoïd, signed and unique.
