Robert Frierd (1937-1975) - Lot 6
Robert Frierd (1937-1975) Avalon Ballroom - August 24 to 27, 67 Concert poster with Big Brother and the Holding Company, Bo Diddley, Bukka White, Salvation Army Banned (FD-77) 51.5 x 34.2 cm Note: The Family Dog (FD) series is one of the major bodies of American rock posters of the late 1960s. Reference FD-77 is in keeping with the graphic continuity of the "Summer of Love", combining moving typography, intense chromaticism and counter-cultural iconography. This poster is particularly interesting for its combination of emblematic blues and psychedelic rock artists, illustrating the musical dialogue of the Californian scene at the time.
