Mati Klarwein (1932-2002) - Lot 26

Mati Klarwein (1932-2002) Nativity, 1961 Lithograph signed lower right 94 x 67 cm Note: Work from the pre-psychedelic period of Mati Klarwein, a major artist of visionary imagery in the XXᵉ century. Known for his mystical, syncretic compositions - blending religious iconography, esoteric symbolism and extra-Western influences - Klarwein would later develop an international reputation thanks to his iconic album covers (particularly in the rock and jazz scene of the 1960s-1970s). Nativity already bears witness to this approach: detailed treatment of the figure, dense composition, transcendent universal spirituality and intense chromatic palette. Large-format lithograph, sought-after for its print quality and autograph signature.
