ALAIN DELON, in Hollywood, during the shooting of Ralph Nels - Lot 62
ALAIN DELON, in Hollywood, during the shooting of Ralph Nelson's film "Once a thief" (Les Tueurs de san Francisco), 1965 Photo, vintage silver print Captioned on back Please note. Alain Delon (b. 1935), a major French actor in European cinema, established himself as one of the great figures of international cinema in the late 1950s. His breakthrough came with René Clément's Plein Soleil (1960) and Luchino Visconti's Le Guépard (1963), and he quickly became a star recognized beyond France. This photograph taken in Hollywood in 1965 shows the actor on the set of Once a Thief (Les Tueurs de San Francisco), directed by Ralph Nelson. This film marked one of Delon's forays into American cinema, in a thriller in which he co-starred with Ann-Margret and Van Heflin. The image testifies to the actor's presence on Hollywood sets in the mid-1960s, when his career took on a truly international dimension. Dimensions: 25.3 x 20.6 cm
