Aldo SOARES (1960) - Lot 68
Aldo SOARES (1960) John Turturro, 1991 Silver print Dimensions including margins: 30 x 24 cm Note: In this portrait of John Turturro, Aldo Soares favors a radical frontal approach, where the face emerges almost brutally from the shadows. The strong contrast between areas of light and darkness sculpts the features, accentuating the intensity of the gaze and the psychological tension of the image. The tight framing abolishes all distance, directly confronting the viewer with the actor's presence. Black and white lends the whole a timeless dimension, oscillating between cinematic icon and almost expressionist figure.
