José NICOLAS (1956) - Lot 203
José NICOLAS (1956)
Set of two photographs:
Wailing Wall, Jerusalem, Israel, 1998
Silver prints
Dimensions: 40 x 30 cm
Note: With this set of photographs taken at the Wailing Wall, José Nicolas offers two complementary views of the same site. One portrays collective fervor in the circular movement of bodies, while the other focuses on more individual moments, captured in passage and observation.
The contrast between these two images reveals the richness of practices and presences, between shared ritual and personal experience. In this way, the artist underscores both the spiritual and everyday dimensions of this emblematic space.
