Note: These two images, taken in the late 1960s, present Brigitte Bardot in a maritime setting evocative of the Mediterranean, a period when the actress fully embodied an ideal of freedom and modernity. The poses, deliberately simple and natural, alternate between frontal presence and a more interior attitude, emphasizing a femininity freed from the traditional codes of posed portraiture.
The dialogue between the two prints creates a complementary reading: on the one hand, a direct relationship to the nautical setting and the leisure object emblematic of the period; on the other, an isolated, almost sculptural figure in the landscape. The whole is part of an iconography that became emblematic of Bardot at the end of her film career.
