Arletty and Bernard Blier in the film "Hôtel du Nord" by Mar - Lot 73
Arletty and Bernard Blier in the film "Hôtel du Nord" by Marcel Carné, 1938 Photograph by Roger Kahan Vintage silver print Dimensions: 23.5 x 29.2 cm Note : Rare original promotional photograph depicting one of the film's most daring scenes, highlighting the modernity of the character played by Arletty. The large 23.5 x 29.2 cm format, larger than the usual press standards of the 1930s (usually 18 x 24 cm or 20 x 25 cm), gives this print a remarkable visual presence and added rarity. The subtle contrast and print quality underline the aesthetic of poetic realism typical of Marcel Carné's cinema.
