Portrait of Mary Pickford, circa 1941 - Lot 83
Portrait of Mary Pickford, circa 1941 Silver print signed in the negative lower left, enhanced with gouache and signed, dated and dedicated in ink lower right by Mary Pickford Dimensions: 36 x 28 cm Note: Important portrait of Mary Pickford, a founding figure of Hollywood cinema and co-founder of United Artists. The image, with its soft, pictorialist modeling, is enhanced with gouache, giving the print an almost painterly dimension, particularly in the treatment of skin tones and plant decor. The signature integrated into the negative attests to a studio print, while the autograph signature, date and handwritten dedication add considerable interest to the print. Large format (36 x 28 cm), larger than the promotional standard 8 x 10 inches, testifying to a production intended for official distribution or distinguished personal use. Note :
