His work explores notions of solitude, the staging of the self and the relationship to the body in often neglected urban environments. Through a pared-down aesthetic and a great economy of means, he constructs images that are both direct and deeply meditative. In The masked girl, Zoé, Nanterre (2021), the artist offers an enigmatic portrait, oscillating between vulnerability and self-assertion. The reclining, partially masked body, set against a mineral, industrial landscape, creates a strong contrast between intimacy and public space. The wide framing and distant horizon reinforce the sense of isolation, while the silver print lends the image a soft, timeless texture. This photograph reads like a silent pause, a suspended moment when the individual regains possession of his or her own space.
