Thierry VALENCIN (Born 1962) - Lot 162
Thierry VALENCIN (Born 1962) Back with camera, 2004 Vintage silver print Numbered 4/9 Signed and stamped by the photographer on the back of the photo and passe-partout Dimensions including margins: 30 x 40 cm Dimensions with mat : 50 x 40 cm Note: The artist depicts a nude from behind, where a suspended camera symbolically replaces the gaze. The contrast of black and white accentuates the texture of the skin and the tension between intimacy and the outside gaze. Valencin questions the status of photographer and model, in an image that is both sensual and conceptual.
