Note: In this photograph, Jérémy Lemplin confronts human presence with monumental architecture. The imposing concrete silos occupy almost the entire frame, forming a rigorous vertical repetition that visually crushes the two figures on the ground. Industrial monumentality becomes the real subject of the image.
The two passers-by, reduced to small silhouettes, introduce scale and a discreet narrative. Their light-colored coats catch the light and contrast with the dark, textured mass of the building, drawing the eye down into the image.
The low-angled light sculpts the volumes, revealing the irregularities of the concrete and accentuating the rhythm of the cylinders. This play of shadows and lines transforms the architecture into an almost abstract composition, while the human presence re-establishes a sensitive dimension, between isolation and everyday urban life.
