Working with the Sygma agency, Pavlovsky established himself as a major witness to the political and social tensions of the late 20th century. The scene, marked by the presence of the forces of law and order and official vehicles, vividly captures the atmosphere of control and tension typical of border areas at the time. With his direct framing and documentary eye, the photographer captures a moment charged with history, between surveillance, traffic and political stakes. The Sygma agency stamp and the handwritten caption on the back give this print all the authenticity of a press photograph. A work of great documentary value, which will appeal to collectors of photojournalism and contemporary history.
