Michael KENNA (born 1953) - Lot 238
Michael KENNA (born 1953) Playground Plane, Oxfordshire, England, 1979 Silver print, 1980, mounted on paper, signed in pencil lower right and dated lower left On the back: author's stamp, titled, negative and print indications Image size: 17 x 23 cm Sheet size: 28 x 35 cm Note : With Playground Plane, Michael Kenna transforms a play structure into an almost abstract form, suspended in a silent landscape. The symmetry, rigorous framing and soft gradations lend the image a meditative dimension characteristic of his work. True to his minimalist approach, Kenna reveals here the hidden poetry of ordinary places, between suggested human presence and contemplative solitude.
