Panoramic view of Paris, c. 1930 Vintage silver print Folds on the corners Dimensions: 22.5 x 29 cm Size with passe-partout: 40 x 50 cm Note: This panoramic view of Paris, taken around 1930, offers a broad, structured view of the capital, still largely dominated by its zinc roofs. The elevated vantage point allows us to embrace the expanse of the urban fabric, punctuated by the chimneys and tightly-packed facades characteristic of Haussmann Paris. The Eiffel Tower, at the center of the composition, acts as a visual and symbolic landmark, while the great monuments barely emerge from the architectural density. The soft, slightly veiled light accentuates the effect of depth, giving the whole an almost suspended atmosphere. This period print bears witness to a Paris before the great transformations of the XXᵉ century, where the city still retains a homogeneity and silhouette now partly lost.
