José NICOLAS (1956) - Lot 351
José NICOLAS (1956) Departure of the Palestinians, Beirut, 1982 Silver print On back, signed, titled, dated and numbered 1/8 Dimensions: 30 x 40 cm Note : Photograph taken during the departure of Palestinian fighters from Beirut in 1982. José Nicolas captures a historic moment of tension and hope: the gestures of victory contrast with the context of war and exile. The motion blur of the action shot reinforces the urgency of the scene, while the tight framing highlights the faces and political signs. Black and white accentuates the image's documentary and symbolic dimensions.
