JULES SUPERVIELLE, poet and writer, 1950s. 6 photos, vintage silver prints Annotated on one back Size: 5 x 6 cm each (white serrated edges). Note: Jules Supervielle (1884-1960), French-Uruguayan poet, novelist and playwright, occupies a singular place in the literature of the XXᵉ century. His work, marked by great poetic sensitivity and an imagination nourished by onirism, lies at the crossroads of symbolism and surrealism, while retaining a highly personal voice. Author of collections such as Gravitations (1925) and La Fable du monde (1938), he was recognized for his original contribution to French poetry. These photographs, dating from the 1950s, bear witness to the iconography of the writer at the end of his career.
