Important circular PENDANT, slightly pear-shaped, openwork a - Lot 25
Important circular PENDANT, slightly pear-shaped, openwork and chased, adorned in the center with a pear-shaped cabochon emerald (pierced) surrounded by rubies, turquoise and green champlevé enamels and round and oval emeralds. Back decorated with champlevé enamel. Misses and wear to the enamel, trace of restoration to the lower end and dents to the gemstones. Moroccan work, circa 1925. This pendant was probably part of an important and rare necklace composed of three almost identical pendants held by strings of pearls, called "Tazra". The trilogy of pendants evokes the three patriarchs in the Jewish religion. The richness of the stones set and the champlevé enamel on both sides point to a piece of Jewish wedding ceremony jewelry, possibly from the cities of MEKNES or FES. Yellow gold (750‰) chain of French manufacture reported. Size: 7.4 x 7 cm. Gross weight: 103.8 g.
