José NICOLAS (born 1956) - Lot 244
José NICOLAS (born 1956)
Petite Camargue, La Sagne
Subligraphic print
Signed and numbered 2/12
Dimensions: 80 x 120 cm, US case
Note: In this view of the Petite Camargue, José Nicolas delivers an image of great contemplative gentleness. The landscape seems suspended in a diffused light, with reeds in rosy hues invading the space all the way to the horizon. The discreet presence of an isolated hut and the path cut through the grass reinforce the feeling of silence and immensity, giving this photograph an almost meditative dimension.
Accustomed to images in which reality becomes visual emotion, José Nicolas here develops a more refined, atmospheric approach to his work. The delicate palette, minimalist composition and generous scale of the print offer a particularly decorative work without losing its sensitive depth. Signed and numbered 2/12, this photograph will appeal to collectors and lovers of great contemporary landscapes looking for a piece that is at once soothing, elegant and immersive.
