Larisa DRYANSKY, - Lot 209
Larisa DRYANSKY, Joseph Breitenbach Les Éditions de l'Amateur, Musée Nicéphore Niépce, 2001 Biographical account (in English and French) and photographs by Joseph Breitenbach (1896–1984) Very good condition Note: Published in conjunction with the exhibition “Josef Breitenbach (1896–1984), an Impure Photography,” held at the Nicéphore Niépce Museum in Chalon-sur-Saône (October 20, 2001 – January 27, 2002), this book traces the career of photographer Josef Breitenbach, a singular figure in 20th-century photography. Born in Germany and having lived successively in Paris and then New York, Breitenbach developed a body of work that blends documentary photography, experimentation, and surrealism. Written by Larisa Dryansky, the volume combines a biographical essay with a substantial selection of black-and-white and color photographs. The edition is bilingual (French-English) and includes a bibliography.
