MINIATURE BRACELET - Lot 7
MINIATURE BRACELET A hinged bangle made of 750-thousandths gold and 800-thousandths silver, featuring a painted oval miniature at its center, signed by Alfred Meyer, depicting a woman’s profile in an antique style against a black background. The border is set with rose-cut diamonds. The sides of the bracelet are also adorned with small rose-cut diamonds. Openwork setting. Snap clasp with safety chain. Master’s hallmark: Émile Sauvage. Dated from the second half of the 19th century. Dimensions: 7 × 6 cm. Gross weight: 22.4 g. (Slight signs of wear.) Note: Alfred Meyer was a 19th-century French miniaturist known for his neoclassically inspired profiles used in luxury jewelry. The Parisian jeweler Émile Sauvage created settings of great finesse, combining gold, silver, and diamonds, in the refined style of the Second Empire. Bracelets adorned with signed miniatures are now highly sought-after examples of the union between miniature painting and 19th-century fine jewelry.
