JEANNE LANVIN - I - Lot 30
JEANNE LANVIN - I "La Captive," the name given to the dress model worn by a model, 1946. Photo by Georges Saad, vintage silver gelatin print on card stock, stamped (the photographer and the Lanvin label) and annotated (year and details of the dress). 29.6 x 19.3 cm. Some edges slightly trimmed. Note: In 1946, the Jeanne Lanvin fashion house presented “La Captive,” a design that reflected the revival of Parisian haute couture in the aftermath of World War II. Photographed by Georges Saad, the dress showcases the craftsmanship of one of France’s oldest fashion houses, founded by Jeanne Lanvin in 1889. The house’s stamp and the annotations detailing the design also lend this print the true status of a fashion archive piece.
