Signs of handling visible only when held up to the light. Note: Nina Ricci, who founded the fashion house that bears her name in 1932 with her son Robert, is considered one of the leading figures of Parisian haute couture. This portrait from the 1950s, in which the rows of pearls fully contribute to her elegance, immortalizes the designer at a time when her fashion house was enjoying significant international renown.
